Formula 1 Race: 130 – 508€ Buy tickets
The last session of the third out of five encounters between Formula One and the Circuit de Catalunya saw Jarno Trulli’s Toyota set the pace ahead of the rest of runners, with a lap time – 1:20.801 – that beat all the previous ones set during these three days. David Coulthard from Red Bull at 1:21.258 and Nico Rosberg from Williams at 1:21.293 were second and third on the time sheets respectively.
This last round of preseason tests had more than 11,200 spectators. Current World Champion Kimi Raikkonen from Ferrari took the ninth spot today and told the press that they are in possession of a powerful car, and that the team is very satisfied with the work they have carried out in the winter. As for Fernando Alonso’s role in the Championship, Raikkonen believes that “he can be a strong rival, although we cannot predict this until the races are actually under way”.
The FIA has been working at the end of the main straight of the Barcelona track during all Wednesday, as they have been carrying out tests with illuminated panels to be used on the first night Grand Prix in Singapore. These panels will display the messages of the marshals of the track after sunset, and will also prove useful under adverse weather conditions with low visibility.
